Sharon began her role at Waypoint in January, 2019.
Sharon was born in Pennsylvania but has also lived in New York, Kentucky, Ohio, and now, Michigan. She is married to Dick who serves as Director of Learning and Development with One Mission Society, and also teaches Humanities online for the Kentucky Community & Technical College System. Sharon and Dick have one young adult son, Adam. Sharon is an animal lover, and she also delights in participating in outdoor activities such as walking, biking, and kayaking.
Sharon graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College with a degree in Humanities/Christian Ministries. She also graduated with a Master of Arts in Religion from Asbury Theological Seminary. She comes to Waypoint having served in other churches in a variety of roles such as Staff Pastor, Lead Pastor, and Children’s Pastor.
Sharon enjoys being with people – children and adults – and she is excited and grateful for her role here at Waypoint that gives her the opportunity to guide all people – from birth through adulthood – toward an ever-deepening walk with Jesus. A key verse that inspires her in this role is Matthew 28:18-20 from The Message, “Jesus…gave his charge: ‘God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.’”
